Northwest Puppet Center's "The World of Puppetry" Exhibit

The Northwest Puppet Center is offering the public its first glimpse into the internationally-acclaimed puppetry collection, "The World of Puppetry: Treasures from the Cook/Marks Collection," July 23 through Aug. 1 at Seattle Center Pavilion B. The exhibit is free, but donations to the Northwest Puppet Center are welcomed.

This portion of the massive collection will display puppets from Palermo, Bali, Athens, Osaka, Rio de Janeiro, Bamako and more. Examples of Sicilian opera dei pupi, Indonesian wayang, Japanese bunraku and vaudeville marionettes will be exhibited. More of the collection will be on display when Northwest Puppet Center opens its season in November. The "World of Puppetry" exhibition hours are as follows:

• 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., Friday, July 23
• 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., Saturdays, July 24 and 31; Sundays, July 25 and Aug. 1
• 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday, July 26 and Friday, July 30

CONTRIBUTIONS NEEDED:
To continue the important job of conserving this world class puppet collection, IPM needs more storage space! We are looking for a unit or units to install on Alan Cook’s back lot. If you have or know of a source for clean and secure units that are free or reasonable, please contact : IPM (626) 296-1535 mail@PuppetryMuseum.org.
