Sharon’s school supported a sister city in La Mesa, Mexico. They took books and school supplies and toys and, of coarse, a Santa Claus to distribute them. The Santa was unavailable and Phil became the replacement with a mangy beard and wrinkled suit. Since beginning his Santa carreer for the Lion’s Club in the 1990’s, he performs at selected charities, schools, private parties, corporations and for other groups.
He is a member of the Amalgamated Real Bearded Santas with a membership of over 500. Their yearly convention will meet this July in Branson, MO.
As a valued volunteer of IPM, Phil wears many hats. He is a photographer, builder (of anything needed), organizer, cook, go-fer and member of the board. He is valued for his many creative ideas and problem solving abilities.
