	The Bakersfield Museum of Art is pleased to present this exhibition of International puppets from the remarkable collection of Alan Cook. Puppetry merges the visual and performing arts; cultural traditions in many parts of the world have included puppetry for hundreds of years. Puppets are created to mirror, satirize and elevate our lives through our aesthetic sensibilities, out celebrations and rituals, our myths and stories and our sense of humor. The puppets included in this exhibition are nineteenth and twentieth century interpretations of an old and important art form from many different regions form around the globe.
