Virtually every culture in the world has some form of puppetry. In this fascinating exhibition selected from the Alan Cook Collection at the International Puppetry Museum in Pasadena, you get the grand tour. Included in the more than 200 works on display will be Sicilian marionettes, Indonesian shadow puppets, African rod puppets, Japanese Bunraku and more. Truly the world on a string.

Family Open Studios Plus with Hobey Ford's Golden Rod Puppets

Performances at 11;45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

In the Schulman Auditorium, Hobey Ford's Golden Rod Puppets perform "Animalia," a beautiful production that explores animals through movement, music and stunning puppetry. The pieces include a look at butterfly and frog metamorphosis, the world of birds and an undersea ballet of whales, dolphins and otters. In the hands-on activity, families will get to create their own animal puppet using a variety of techniques and materials. It all adds up to another Family Open Studios program!
