STEVE'S TREASURE CHEST
WHERE IS IT?... WHERE IS IT?...
That phrase keeps ringing in my ears and running through my brain. Especially in this countdown to send-off. On Sat., Sept.17th the truck from the Cannon Gallery will arrive to fetch the almost 200 puppets we are sending to them for the exhibit that will run from Oct. 2nd through Dec. 30th. And the list keeps growing!! Heather needs this puppet from this box. Beth needs me to put a re-cataloged one in another, and what about the new acquisitions...do they have their information sheets so Beth can give them a number, photograph them, and enter the data in the computer. Then she will give them to Lady to wrap and box, and what is the next consecutive number for that box.
People don't realize how much actually goes into our process. The most common comment is: "GEEE! you must have sooo much fun with all those puppets!". Well people, it's a TON of work by a very dedicated group trying to accomplish a mountain of tasks in a very short amount of time. Oh, we also manage to greet occasional visitors and provide them with guided tours of IPM and our process. BUT...when you stop for a breather (and we do have a custom of "lunching on the lawn" together), we can suddenly realize how much we have actually gotten done, and share the pleasure with each other(not to mention the continuous flow of sweets I "force" upon those innocent dieting victims).
Once the exhibit is opened, we can again turn our attentions to the transfer of puppets to the Northwest Puppet Center, and ready ourselves for Dmitris' next pick-up visit.
